Nagwa Meguid

MD, PhD, Professor of Human Genetics of the National Research Center, Head of the CONEM Egypt Child Brain Research Council for Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (Egypt)

Dr. Meguid is a Professor of Human Genetics, and Former Head of the Human Genetics Unit at the National Research Center (NRC) in Egypt. She has her Ph.D. in Human Genetics, Senior Geneticist at the Genetics Institute in Pasadena, California, and a Fellow in Uppsala University in Sweden, and Yale University in the USA.

Dr. Meguid is jury president of L’Oréal-UNESCO Egypt for Young Researchers. She is the Head of the DNA Research Laboratory in Genetic Behavioral Disorders, and the founder of the Autism Research Study Group in Egypt. Jury President of Women Awards, Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. 

She was one of five female scientists win the “L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women” Award, in Africa and the Middle East. She also won the National Award for Excellence, Creative Women Award in Genetics, from the Arabian Gulf University and finally has been awarded the Arab Award from Abdel Hamid Showman, Jordan 2021 in the field of Autism. She also has more than 100 international publications in elite international journals, and an extensive experience in training graduate students and supervising theses; she has overseen 75 graduate theses.
