MD, PhD Head of Department of Social Pediatrics of Pediatrics Research Institute in Petrovsky National Centre of Surgery, Chief Researcher of the Center for Mental Health of Children and Adolescents named after G.E.Sukhareva (Russia)

Dr. Natalia Ustinova is a mental health scientist and practitioner. In 2001, she completed her residency in psychiatry and began working with children with mental disabilities. In 2011 she received an education in the field of public health, and in 2017 she completed DMSc on the problems of the influence of social and biological factors on neurodevelopment of a and the process of forming the key characteristics of health.

Dr. Natalia Ustinova is the author of more than 70 publications and chapters in books, she is a member of the editorial boards of a number of journals, including those indexed in international databases (Scopus). Member of the council and editorial board of ISSOP (International Society of Social Pediatrics).

Gradually, the understanding came that knowledge in the field of psychiatry is not enough to effectively help children with autism. Comprehensive biopsychosocial multiprofessional approach is needed. The focus of research is the relationship between social and neurobiological aspects of autism. Dr.Ustinova is a developer of innovative precision model for health care for children with ASD in Russia.
