Ubadah Sabbagh

Ubadah Sabbagh began his career as a research assistant in the School of Biological Sciences, UMKC in 2014 while studying biology with the focus on bioinformatics in the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He later received a position of a medical laboratory technologist at the Laboratory Corporation of America. He received his PhD in translational biology, medicine, and health in 2021 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. The focus of his doctoral work was molecular and cellular neuroscience.

Starting from 2021, Ubadah Sabbagh has been postdoctoral associate at McGovern Institute for Brain Research, MIT. His research focuses on the development and function of thalamocoritcal interactions in health and disease.

Ubadah Sabbagh has numerous academic publications and has been a contributing writer to the Washington Post, Scientific American and other media outlets for several years. He is a winner of numerous awards, a regular speaker at research seminars, conferences, workshops and public lectures. Since 2018, he has been providing academic mentoring to students. Ubadah Sabbagh has a membership in International Society for Neurochemistry, American Society for Neurochemistry, Society for Neuroscience, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Coalition for the Life Sciences. He is a past member of Virginia Neuroscience Initiative and Central Virginia Chapter-Society for Neuroscience.
