Andreas Grabrucker received his MSc in Biology from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany, majoring in Genetics (2005), and a PhD in Molecular Medicine from Ulm University, Germany, in 2009. I continued my research in the United States at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of Stanford University. In 2011, he returned to Germany as an Assist. Professor and Executive Director of the Neurocenter of Ulm University. Since 2017, he is an Assoc. Professor at the Bernal Institute of University of Limerick, Ireland. Since 2020 he is also the Lead of the Bio Materials Research Cluster of the Bernal Institute.

Since 2009, Andreas Grabrucker has published 70+ peer-reviewed articles and 14+ book chapters, with over 4100 citations. He is the author of the first textbook detailing the role of “Biometals in Autism Spectrum Disorders.” His work focuses on translational neuroscience. He generates model systems to understand processes of cell, tissue, and organ development and function and explore the effects of altered trace metal biology. He also develops Nanocarriers for targeted drug/metal delivery into the brain.
